Vernon Parish
The Vernon Parish Training School began as a two-story building near what is now the Great Bethel Church. The school excelled at preparing its students for college and engaged frequently with the community through their top-rated music department. After integration, the school became Vernon High School for all students in Vernon Parish. Today it stands as Vernon Middle School, serving over 200 students in grades 6-8.
