Rhymes-Rosenwald High School

The ruins of Rhymes-Rosenwald High School are located in the rural city of Start, Louisiana in Richland Parish. The school was built and opened in 1931 as an elementary school for the White children in this agricultural area. In 1950, the school building was renovated and became the local high school for Black children. It was used as a high school until 1969 following integration. The site is located among agricultural land and has been documented as a ruin in 2010 by a local resident of Richland Parish.
