Beauregard Parish Training school was originally a five-classroom L-shaped building that educated African American students in the early 20th century until it suffered a fire in 1929. When the school was rebuilt in 1953, it was renamed George Washington Carver High School and remained open until integration. Today, the building is being used as Beau Care Headstart.
